History and the Saint
Saints Marcelino and Pedro, martyrs. Both were persecuted in the time of Diocletian in 303. Marcellin was a priest and Peter was an exorcist, he took them to a place in the forest and made them dig their graves, then beheaded and buried. The tombs were found and their remains transferred to the Via Labicana, where a basilica was built by order of Constantine.
Saints Marcelino and Pedro are commemorated on June 2.
